We went to a battlebots event and had a great time watching some robot fighting! I have watched a lot of battlebots on TV and social media and it was really neat to see it in person. The staff here really makes it feel massively kid friendly with a lot of emphasis on encouraging kids to go out and use their brains/build something! Was a great event to watch in Vegas!
So much fun to see the robots! The hosts were funny and the show was exciting and fun for all ages! My husband enjoys watching on TV, so it was fun to take him. He loved it.
Fun show. Neat arena. Much more intimate venue than what I expected which gives the audience a good view from any seat
Great show, kids loved it.
THIS WAS AWESOME. Family of 3, plus my nephew and BIL, and we all had a great time! We’ve watched some of the shows in the past and that made it cooler to watch this live.
This was the Destruct-o-Thon Vegas show!!
Parking: $10
Get there early to get the best seats for your section! We arrived 30min before show time. 👍🏽
Would have been sooner, but Vegas traffic. You know.
It's like WWE but with robots. It's very obviously staged but still decent fun. At 60 bucks a ticket + fees, probably not worth the price. Wouldn't recommend unless you got kids or a fan of the show.
Show was about 1.5 hours and had 5 fights. The first 4 were basically exhibitions with older versions of bots and substitute drivers. There are WWE like intros with fake team members trash talking each other to try to pump up the crowd and also just pad out the show length a bit. Last fight was legit with Hypershock fighting a new bot designed by the team behind Copperhead, with the actual teams and drivers, and presented more like the tv show. For me seeing the arena and the last fight made it worthwhile, but the show runners may want to reconsider the format. Considering almost everybody attending was a diehard fan, having WWE style intros and cheesey trash talking had most fans rolling their eyes and seemed to be catering to non fans who aren't familiar with the show (and seemed to not be attending anyway). Lots of adults so don't be afraid of attending without children, you won't be out of place.
I wish I could rate these guys higher but there is a big deception happening. I love Battlebots and have watched since it first aired on Comedy Central in 98. I also watched Robot Wars and today I watch NHRL as well on YouTube .
The fights in the destruct-a-thon are not genuine competitive fights between builders. Instead they are staged gimmick fights just for the show. I wouldn't have a problem with that, it was a good show, but people should know.
The production will insist these are genuine competitive fights which convinced us to buy tickets for two nights in a row. No surprise 5/6 fights were exactly the same line up the next night. Kraken never actually attempts to crush anything nor does it run with it's new spinner weapon. Tazbot has a detachable mini bot that they pretend is just damage Kraken inflicted. Chopper is filled with pyro technics which they use to pretend it's taking damage. I love Robot Combat but the dishonesty in the destruct-a-thon was a big let down.
